Meditation Alters Cellular Activity

November 13, 2014

Countless studies have already proven the benefits of meditation to ones state of mind, life and overall happiness, however a recent study has now proven that meditation alters our biology as well.

Researchers in Canada have discovered a link between mindfulness meditation and improvements on a cellular level in cancer patients.

Linda E Carlson the lead investigator at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre said: “it was surprising that we could see any difference in telomere length at all over the three-month period studied. Further research is needed to better quantify these potential health benefits, but this is an exciting discovery that provides encouraging news.”

It is exciting times as we can all become empowered when it comes to our health.
